Company Meeting

ACM had a very productive company meeting on 25/10/2019. We looked closely at our company structure, strategy and values when representing our clients. Lots discussed including exciting developments & plans for the future. We welcomed Jinto Joesph as consultant case manager and Andrew Kemp as a volunteer.

BABICM: Case Managing with Curiosity & Creativity BABICM:

We attended the BABICM event Case Managing with Curiosity and Creativity: Planning the best personalised care on 03/12/2019. Some great speakers including Sue Peters covering ‘Negotiating the minefield of CHC funding – understanding the process and the framework to achieve optimum outcomes’ and Frances Mayne covering Direct Employment or Agency: A Deputy’s Perspective. The conference has helped us develop our service when selecting least restrictive care options and exploring the true value of the support worker role.

Support Worker Training

On 05/12/2019 we welcomed Neuropsychologists Dr Gemma Wall and Dr Gemma Mercer from NWNT who provided specialist support worker training – Working with clients who have had a brain injury: A practical approach for support staff.

This was a really informative day for all and a great opportunity for support staff to share their experiences with others.

Capacity to Engage in Social Media

We attended a thought-provoking event on 13/06/2019 hosted by Potter Rees Dolan Solicitors that explored the complexities and risks around our clients use of social media.
This was an insightful learning experience and has helped us consider safety measures to safeguard our vulnerable clients as best as possible.

Clued Upp

Dave & Andrew had a great day out in Hull on the Clued Upp GPS detective trail. A great way to follow directions and get out into the local community and see the city.

Blackburn Rovers vs Hull City

We had a great day out watching Blackburn Vs Hull City. Blackburn came out with a 3 – 0 win. The accessibility and support for individuals with disability was exceptional.

Football Tournament

Dave took part in the game arranged by Ryan Price from Heads Up Therapies.

A combined team took on a strong team from CFG Law who came out the victors. We look forward to the rematch next year!

Ryan arranges weekly training in Manchester for individuals with ABI. It’s a great way to keep active, meet new people and for peer support.
