A Spotlight on Medication

Citalopram
Used for the management of depression and panic attacks, Citalopram is one of a group of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs.

These medicines are thought to work by increasing the levels of a mood-enhancing chemical called serotonin in the brain.
It usually takes 4 to 6 weeks for citalopram to work.

Common Side Effects are: tiredness, dry mouth, and sweating. They’re usually mild and go away after a couple of weeks.

St John’s wort – will increase your risk of side effects.

Meet The Team: Corinne

I joined Ability Case Management in February 2022. As a Case Manager, I am part of the team helping clients to maximise their independence, access supports, and therapies as required to achieve person centred outcomes. I like to listen to what clients want and help people to think about things flexibly, promoting a can-do approach, problem solving and helping to remove barriers.

I also support new Ability Case Management clients & their families, recruit and manage support staff, audit and evidence governance and compliance for the company, attend meetings, document outcomes, and chase up outstanding actions.

Webinars

Eloise has attended several webinars which have outlined the new regulatory approach.
The most useful she felt was the medicines from the regulatory perspective.
We have changed our medication sheets in line with new guidance.
